New words, new pets and old pets with new tricks
Alea has started saying uh oh. EVERY time she does it I laugh. Most of the time she uses it out of context and repeats it over and over again, however, she occasionally will use it appropriately. When she drops her sippy cup over the side of her high chair, for example. She also tries to say chickens but it comes out something like "tsisis". The reason why she is being taught this particular word is because, thanks to her Pawpaw, we have now acquired a trio of buff cochins. One rooster and two hens. These particular birds are very small versions of standard chickens and the cochins have feathers all the way down to their feet which gives the appearance of fur. I know, you all must think we're nuts but these little bantams are very calm, very small and very cute. They are easy to take care of and Alea loves them. We go out every morning to feed and water them and she points and says "tsisis". I'll try to get some pictures of Alea with her banties and post them on here in the next few days. We, also, got a small above ground Easy Set pool and set it up in the back yard. It is only 3 1/2 feet deep but when you're on a floaty it seems much deeper until you stand up again and realize you are only in waist high water. Alea LOVES her pool. We spend a lot of time in it during the day. She has an inner tube with a built on shade that is made especially for little ones. She grabs a water toy, lays her head back against the raft and totally relaxes. She floats like this for 15-20 minutes at a time, then she just wants to stand on the ladder and look over the side of the pool and point to the ground. We put Lily in with us yesterday and she surprisingly swims very well. Alea laughed hysterically at Lily paddling around the pool. With as much fun as she is having we figure that it was money well spent.
