Cora turns 1

Our niece, Cora Elaine Shutt turned one on April 3rd.  It's hard to believe that it's been a year since Cora was born in Durham England.  Her mummy appropriately had a tea party for her birthday highlighted with quiche, cucumber sandwiches and several kinds of hot tea.  Cora's tea party attendees included her Mummy and Daddy, Pops and Grammy Shutt, Grandpa Burl and Grandma, her Uncle T, Megan and Elizabeth Diefenderfer, her Auntie Jen, and her great grandparents. Unfortunately her Uncle Wren and Cousin Alea weren't able to be at her party as Alea was STILL sick and was running a very high temperature that day.
Cora, of course, didn't know exactly why everyone was there but couldn't ignore all the attention she was getting and it was so cute to see her feed off of the energy in the room especially while she was opening her gifts.  Because her family has such great taste in clothes, she'll be one of the cutest babies out and about this summer.  When it came time to cut the cake, Sarah placed Cora in her high chair with her very own cupcake on the tray right in front of her.  It took her a few minutes to warm up to the idea of just sticking her fingers in it but eventually she started to dig in.  This was the part that would've been funny to an outsider looking in.  We were a bunch of adults gathered around a tiny little girl cooing, laughing and ALL shooting pictures of her first bites.  You'd think she was famous and we were the paparazzi.
I can't believe that in just 4 short months we'll be celebrating Alea's first birthday.
